Week 37 – Grinder – HP5+ (+2 Stops to 1600)

Stevhan is not a stranger to this blog, however not exactly in the way you would expect. His basement was used a few weeks ago for the shoot I did with Finite Automata. He is an interesting fellow, and I don't exactly remember how we actually met. But that doesn't matter.

When he contacted me through my weekly call to action on Instagram and said he wanted to do something with fire. I'd be lying if I both wasn't A) a little scared, and B) seriously intrigued. So I made sure I cleared time in my schedule to shoot.

Sadly for you there isn't any of the fireball photos in this batch, I shot all of those digital (and posted them to my news blog a few weeks ago; by the time this goes live). However I did get some of his grider act on film. And for shooting in almost pitch darkness except for a modeling light for focus, I'm happy to have captured anything at all.

Week 30 – DragonCon in Black and White – Various Films

50 ROLLS! As of this entry there are 50 rolls that have been shot and shown to all of you. The journey is almost complete...although much earlier than expected. I've already shot next week's entry into this adventure and I believe I have 12 rolls of film left. This should put me up to 42 weeks (10 weeks short of my goal of a year). So what does this mean? Well...if I have the spare pocket money I will try to pick up 10 more rolls and finish 52 weeks of entries. If not, we'll figure something out.

I'd like to take a moment to say a big early THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me and kept up with this blog. Your comments and love has been instrumental to the success I feel about 2015.

But without further ado, DragonCon Mega Update 2, This time in Black and White.

Development Notes:
All Stand Developed 1 hour at Room Temperature.

Week 11e – Mr and Mrs Jones (Part 2) – Kodak 400 TX (+2 Stops)

I couldn't visit the land of Kodak without shooting a roll. I actually picked it up in the gift shop of the Eastman house (from a few updates ago). I haven't actively shot TX or Tmax since college, and I remember it not being a very pleasant experience then.

Short of some development issues (which were totally my fault, see the dev notes below) I thought things came out pretty well. I loved being a fly on the wall for the after-after party.

Development Notes:
Rodinal 1:100 Dilution
120 Minute Semi Stand Dev
4 inversion every 30 minutes
Very Thin Negatives. I'm pretty sure its because I used the leftover batch of developer from doing the previous 2 rolls. Probably didn't have enough developer. However everything seemed to be scanned correctly.
