Piedmont Park

Ruby Marx - 2020.

Ruby is no stranger to this blog. We have shot together several times now, and even once before the shutdowns started earlier this year. She messaged me about shooting some grad school graduation photos and had a very specific set of ideas in mind (that ended up changing a couple of times, but such is the creative process).

We ended up spending part of an afternoon walking around Atlanta’s Piedmont Park trying to find some interesting backgrounds that didn’t have people enjoying their Labor Day Weekend in them. I think we did pretty well.

On a technical note I’m actually pretty excited about how these photos turned out (and the previous two cat shoots) while using the Capture One Beyond Styles that were released just a short time ago. Out of all of the various film emulations and presets I’ve messed around with, these seem to be both the easiest and for the most part the most true to their representations. I can’t wait to be able to play around with these more in a studio environment.

Shadow Cumbie - 1/12/2013

Had a bit of a last minute shoot with the lovely Shadow today. She needed a little assistance shooting a piece of wardrobe from Vital Madness that needed to be returned by next Friday, and her original photographer was unable to make the shoot and needed to back out.

With my previous relationship with Shadow I would be stupid to turn down this opportunity.

Originally speaking we were set to shoot at a very interesting location, however we neglected to realize that all of the surrounding area was under construction. We headed off instead to Atlanta's very own Piedmont Park.

I was geared up for shooting in a very dark location, so I went in with a roll of 1600iso film that was gifted to me. So I was very excited to use it.

The shoot went great, and I was very excited seeing what came out of all of it. I came out with a lot more raw images than I usually do. But never the less I was very happy.

Threw on a little Netflix and it was on to the races.

At the end of it all, here are a few things that came out of today. The rest will be posted to the Extra blog over the next few days.

First the film. Sadly I wasn't paying as much attention as I should have so most of them didn't get on the reel right.

And now the digitals:

That one was my personal favorite from today

And that's it for today, keep an eye on the extra blog for more!
