Shadow Cumbie - 1/12/2013

Had a bit of a last minute shoot with the lovely Shadow today. She needed a little assistance shooting a piece of wardrobe from Vital Madness that needed to be returned by next Friday, and her original photographer was unable to make the shoot and needed to back out.

With my previous relationship with Shadow I would be stupid to turn down this opportunity.

Originally speaking we were set to shoot at a very interesting location, however we neglected to realize that all of the surrounding area was under construction. We headed off instead to Atlanta's very own Piedmont Park.

I was geared up for shooting in a very dark location, so I went in with a roll of 1600iso film that was gifted to me. So I was very excited to use it.

The shoot went great, and I was very excited seeing what came out of all of it. I came out with a lot more raw images than I usually do. But never the less I was very happy.

Threw on a little Netflix and it was on to the races.

At the end of it all, here are a few things that came out of today. The rest will be posted to the Extra blog over the next few days.

First the film. Sadly I wasn't paying as much attention as I should have so most of them didn't get on the reel right.

And now the digitals:

That one was my personal favorite from today

And that's it for today, keep an eye on the extra blog for more!

First photo from iPad Camera Kit:

My assistant Nick so graciously purchased me a very useful Christmas gift this year. The iPad camera connection kit. If any of you have seen the latest set with Scarlett Quinn, you will have seen my old workflow when it came to working on the iPad. I had to import into Aperture, and then export lower quality Jpegs for editing. Thanks to this gift I now am able to import RAW files directly into my workflow.

Below is the first photo I was able to work on, its nothing technically great...but for a test image it didn't come out too bad.

Weekend Project - Darkroom:

Hello UNEX Friends and Followers,

Just wanted to take a second and keep you all abreast on what I have been doing all weekend.

If you have been following the various blogs for the last few months, you will remember I got into caffenol printing in my bathroom. Generally speaking being a bachelor has its perks, one of which is being able to live in a level of grunge that makes normal people shy away. However now that I am taking the steps to move to the next level, I thought it was about time to take things to the next level.

Since I moved into my apartment last March I pretty much have had a closet full of boxes and various junk that I didn't really have a place for. I decided this weekend to change all of that.

I took everything that was in my closet out, and re-organized everything to a much more manageable space.

Work in progress clearing everything out

And this is the final result. I have enough room to comfortably load and unload film. Also I have a workspace that gives me enough room for a basic enlarger if I was so inclined (Hello Craigslist!). All of the development proper will still be done in the bathroom, but it works out better than I had it for now.

What did you all do this weekend?
