Straight Edge Tattoo - Corset Piercing

So this entry is going to be a little different than my usual posts. I wanted to try something a little different in how I present things as well. Instead of a few select photos and a lot of text, I am going to have my favorite photos from the night in a gallery slide show below.

I was invited by Brandie and Nic of Straight Edge Tattoo to document a corset piercing being performed by Nic for his portfolio. I didn't want to treat this as a typical portrait session (because it wasn't), so instead I chose to make myself a fly on the wall and try to capture the beauty, emotions, and even the pain of this pursuit of beauty.

For those who may not be familiar with the process a few considerations:
Yes, these are real piercings. They were performed in sequence throughout the course of the evening. After our final laced photos were taken, they were removed. These piercings are not made to be permanent, only temporary.

This type of activity should only be performed by a professional in a clean and sterilized environment using only new and sterilized equipment. Proper safety precautions should be taken at all times.

For more information, or to have a piercing like this performed yourself please contact your local tattoo/piercing shop for more information. (If you happen to be in the Atlanta area, make sure to drop by and see everyone at Straight Edge Tattoo)

DaVinci Black - 07.03.2014

Hello friends and followers,

When I first moved to Atlanta I was working customer support for a cell phone company. The job itself wasn't anything to write home about, but I was able to meet some very interesting and creative folks.

When one of those people called me up out of the blue and asked if I was available for a shoot on very short notice, I said I'd make it happen. And I'm glad I did. Here are a few photos from the up and coming DaVinci Black (link to come, he is working on his social media pages as we speak)

The Shelter 2009-2013

Hello Friends and Followers,

As many of you know The Shelter in Atlanta is closing its doors tonight after a 4 year run.  Its with a heavy heart that I report this on my own blog. The Shelter was not just a bar, it was like a second home to me (and one of my reasons for re-locating to Atlanta years ago). And even was the home of my first solo art showing.

However its best not to mourn, they are going out with a bang tonight with their famous New Wave New Years Eve party. So to celebrate the bar that was opened on a simple premise of "No dress codes, no VIP lists, no douchebags, and everyone is welcome"

I would like to present to you a few photos I was invited to take last night.

Not only will these 12 images live on in the form of this Blog, but I have partnered with Michael and Davo to offer a limited edition 8"x10" print of each of these images. They will be auctioned off tonight with the proceeds going to a project that I can't talk about yet (but one that I am very excited to be a part of...and I think you will be too).

If you like what you see, please come out. Not just for me, but to show a really awesome place off in a blaze of glory.

I hope to see you all there, and if not I hope that whatever you do tonight you do it safely.

Hada Pixie Extra - Red Wall - 10/25/2013

Here is a little extra image from last month's session with Hada Pixie.

We had a little spare time between sets and wanted to keep working. The images we ended up getting didn't really fit with any of the themes that we came up with, however I still wanted to edit a few of them up.

The rest of them would be a little better suited for the NSFW blog, so if they get posted they will be there.

Hada Pixie - 10/25/2013

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to let you all know I had a very busy day yesterday.

I had a chance to work with Hada Pixie, a great model and person that I met doing the Beautiful Darkness event a few years back.

When we met I was recovering from a bad sunburn, and a night of partying...so we didn't get to work then. When she approached me to do some work for Zivity I jumped at the chance.

We shot three sets (two of which I will tease here)

"One Eyed Jacks" is a Twin Peaks inspired photoset from inside the "red room" of the David Lynch classic. See another uncensored image on the NSFW blog.

"Far from Agony" lets Pixie take on the style of her Musical Muse Alyssa White-Gluz from the band The Agonist.

Both of these sets are currently pending review at Zivity, and will be available for voting very soon. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.  Once they are live feel free to give us both some love. And as always trial memberships are available.
