Week 25 – Hada Pixie: Flexible (BTS and Outtakes) – Ilford Delta 100

These images were taken at the same time a friend of mine, and professional model, Hada Pixie and I were working together this weekend. Pixie and I met at an arrange photo shoot event many years ago when I was still new to Atlanta. We exchanged contact information then, but it wasn't until almost 2 years later that we finally shot together for the first time.

Typically when Pixie and I work together it's for a website named Zivity where photographers and models work together to create photosets and ultimately make a little bit of money in the process. Week 15c – Morgan (Again) – Kodak Gold 200 (Expired)

Roll Count? 28! 28 rolls have been shot as of this update! Over half way through the goal of 52 rolls!

This roll was a planned backup in case the 2 boxes of impossible film just didn't turn out. As you can probably guess since you have seen both of them over the last 2 weeks they worked (mostly).

I personally had to re-shoot Morgan using another expired roll of Gold 200 just to redeem myself after messing up the first one during our first shoot. Although it was expired, I think these turned out much better. There is still a little color cast, but not as bad as it was the first time around.

Also I think I may be coming to the end of the life of my C-41 chemicals. On the later images (on the stairs) it becomes clear that something isn't quite right. I think I may have one or two rolls left before I need to re-up.

Because of how I have IFTTT and such set up I still have to make a few edits every time a blog post goes live. Week 11b – Rochester NY – Kodak Portra 400

Right before the wedding proper (but after I realized I loaded the wrong kind of film for the job) my travel partners and I stopped in at the Rochester museum and science center where the ceremony was to be performed. I had a frantic hour of shooting just about everything I possibly could so that I didn't waste anything.

It was another great little pit stop on our journey, and my only regret is not having longer to really spend a good bit of time there.

Week 11a – The George Eastman House – Arista EDU 400

I had a chance while visiting Rochester, NY for a friend's wedding to tool around the city for a bit before the big event. One of the places I knew I had to visit was Kodak founder, George Eastman's home.

It was like something out of The Great Gatsby, and a really neat stop. The home itself is only part of the experience in going. They also maintain a few gallery spaces and a museum of sorts. If you are ever in the area I think its totally worth the trip!

And before anyone say anything, yes I realize the irony of shooting on another man's film while in the "house of Kodak".

Week 8a – Never Look Gift Film in the Mouth – Kodak Max 800 (expired) (-1 stop)

So by the time you read this, hopefully I'll be feeling much better. This last week the plague going around Atlanta knocked me on my ass. However as I write this I am feeling mostly better, so that's a plus.

I have to also make a few short shout outs too for this week. Firstly to Vivi from Vivifyphotography. She donated the rolls of film I shot with this week, as well as the Kodak BW400CN stock from Week 6b (and Next week's entry as well).

Second I want to thank my model Morgan who found me via Instagram. She saw some of the work I did for the self censorship project, and immediately wanted to be on board. Over the next 2 weeks I will be posting not only that entry, but some other photos that we took that I just can't bring myself to "deface" for the project.

Granted all of this film was probably horrendously expired, but I still don't think I "get" shooting color stocks yet. I'm not sure if its my post process, or my choice in film. But it never seems to look the way I want it to. Any tips on shooting and post production would be much appreciated!
