I’m actually pretty happy with how fast this session turned around. I think from initial outreach to final delivery we are at right about 24 hours, which has to be a new record in some way.

This was my first time meeting up with Avery, even though as has been the trend lately we probably have been in the same room at the same time in the same circles more than once. I love working with performers, once we get past the initial awkwardness and the music hits just right, its just one big dance party. I can think of worse ways to spend an evening after work!

I am in the process of putting some new equipment through it’s paces, but I can’t say what it is because it isn’t exactly available for wide release quite yet. But I was lucky enough to get my hands on one and have just a few days to really put it through it’s paces and learn as many quirks and features that I can.

Caitlin - 2022.

Sometimes hashtags actually do work. Caitlin saw the work that I did with Erin a few weeks back through and instagram search, and reached out to book a studio session. Originally we weren’t going to be able to work for a few weeks, but after some last minute cancellations I was able to push things up. Having just moved to the Atlanta area about 18 months ago, this Morticia from Massachusetts was certainly someone I couldn’t wait to work with.

An URBEX photographer in her own right, Caitlin was a wonderful person to have in studio. We had some great chats sharing skills back and forth. Hopefully soon we’ll be going on an adventure where she can show me how she makes her photographs.

I hope all of you enjoy these photos as much as we enjoyed making them.

Jack Calico - 2020.

I’ve known Jack since my early days in the Atlanta Burlesque community. But to be fair, if you spend any time in the same room as him, you’ll soon know Jack too.

I’m surprised its taken this long for the two of us to link up and do some work. After a burlesque sabbatical, Jack is currently taking the steps to warm back up to the stage and answered my call to action when I was looking for some new talent to work with.

So hide your mother, and lock your doors. Jack Calico is back baby!

Dani Deetté - 2016

Happy 2016 everyone! Things have been a little quiet here around the UNDEREXPOSED camp. But rest assured I am still here and ready to keep rocking on new content for everyone. Expect a state of the union post coming soon explaining everything in more detail. For now, I'll just say that I've been moving and am in the process of finding a new "studio" to work from. Also, you may have noticed that I have consolidated the blogs into a single "News" blog now. I liked the idea of maintaining 3 different pages, each with their own content. But I don't think the concept worked so well in practice. So for now, at least, everything will just be funneled here.

But enough housekeeping. I wanted to share with all of you some photos I took of a great person, and up-and-coming actress Dani Deetté (I didn't forget the accent Dani). Dani contacted me via social media and asked if I was interested in having a shoot with her. She recently has moved to Atlanta to live her dream as an actress. You all know me, I'm always happy to help out a fellow creative. So almost immediately I said, "let's do it".

We met at one of my favorite spots in my local area in which to shoot. And then moved to a more rustic location for a few more shots. It wasn't until we were almost finishing up for the day that we discovered a hiking trail, and by sheer luck hit beautiful golden hour light. We probably hiked around for a mile or so talking, laughing, and shooting great photos.

I really look forward to doing more with her in the future.

Nikki Nuke'm – 2015

I really had a lot of fun shooting this set of images with Nikki Nuke'm. If you follow the 52 rolls blog you may remember seeing a few photos of her during the DragonCon entries. She is a burlesque performer here in Atlanta, and it was by sheer luck that we happened across each other.

While I was building the flash diffusion panel (see the extra blog) I was also looking for new people to shoot in new ways. Luckily I was able to peel Nikki away from playing Fallout 4 for a spell and shoot something interesting and fun.

I had a REALLY hard time selecting images to show you all. And there is a pretty good chance I will be revisiting these photos in the near future. There were a couple that I had to re-construct in Lightroom/Photoshop because the backdrop was a little small. Also this was my first attempt at medium-heavy retouching. As my skills improve, hopefully my final delivered images will too.
