“So I’m not saying that I’m just going to throw a sepia filter over these and put them in the blog, but I’m also not not saying that either”.

I think this is a first for me. Usually, I struggle to get one Halloween post up each year, but this time I have managed three so far. This shoot wasn’t my typical fare. I didn’t go into it with any grand concept. I didn’t even know what to expect when Nicky said they were bringing blood and fangs. I just let it happen. And what happened was this unintentional vampire-western that I couldn’t have asked to be any different.

I can’t say that anything in this post will go into my portfolio long term, but that doesn’t bother me. I had fun, and I did the work. That is what matters the most.

And if you made it this far, now the opening quote will make a little more sense. But I warn you, there are some spicy images past this point. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Lady H - 2022.

Despite running in the same circles for the last who-even-knows-how-many years, this is only the second time I think Lady H and I have spent any time together. Sure we probably have existed in the same place at the same time, maybe even the same room once or twice, but after much trying I am so excite to finally have them in my studio.

We talked Photography, dog attacks, tattoos, and the state of the pay-to-see-your-friends-naked union that is Only Fans; all while also teaching me the secrets to having a gay man give you a bitchin’ harness in the parking lot (hint, it involves being covered in dog-fur and having a moment of personal crisis when asked about it).

Even though we weren’t rushing, it felt like time just flew by and I can’t wait to see what happens the next time we both are in the studio again.

Sébastien - 2022.

Sébastien came across my work from the photos that I did of Nicky back at the end of January and gave me a follow on Instagram. When I needed to do some light testing to re-create some new skills I learned last week, they jumped at the chance to get a few portraits made.

During our session, Sébastien gave me some lessons on the catalog of Erykah Badu and brought some great ideas to the table. I’m going to have to do some more experimentation with lace and veils and the overall idea of being hidden. Thank you again for taking time out of your Saturday to come to play in the studio.
