(Damn that new photo setting can look pretty cool, going to have to play with that a little more on future posts)

I think the last time Ruby and I worked together it was for some graduation photos back in 2020, but certainly this is the first time she’s been in the new studio. She reached out to me a few weeks ago and asked if I wanted to shoot some content for a magazine submission and although I was slightly apprehensive because of some bad tastes in my mouth from years ago, I decided we should move forward and give it a go.

(Spoiler alert, we almost immediately got accepted for publication, and I hope to be able to share those images soon).

Although those images were the main goal, Ruby did bring along a couple of other looks that I can show you now.

Nina La Voix - 2020.

So one thing about my new day job is I am traveling much more these days.

I found myself in New York earlier this week (which just so also happened to be my birthday) and was excited to hear that my first NY client, Nina La Voix, was open and wanted to spend some time shooting.

Nina and I first met a few years ago when I found myself traveling to NY. The last time we worked together we turned a small hotel room into some vintage goodness, and this time was no different.

Believe it or not, we shot these in her apartment, with some simple blackout curtains lending themselves as a background (It’s almost like I know what I’m doing sometimes).

Désiré Èvoquer - 2017.

I'm fairly certain this is the first time I've shot with Désiré where she isn't wearing some sort of costume, and that's not a bad thing by any means.

She is a strong and powerful performer, costumer, and all around badass and when she came to me looking for something new for her portfolio I was happy to oblige.

I'm so glad she gave me the chance to get back to my photographic roots and shoot something a little more risque.
